Can someone inform me if camping is again allowed on the banks of the Thompson near Longreach?

It's a few k's on the north side of town at the Fishing Club. Gets very crowded at most times of the year. Right on the river and you will have lots of company.

It's not a few K's as in 4 or 6 , it's 1.9Klms from the last Round-A-Bout and you have to travel up the old Highway.

Hi dodger,
We found a camp about 6km north of Longreach with the help of some locals called "Lilly Ponds".The main camp north of Longreach was too busy for me and this place was perfect. Just ask anyone in town they should be able to give you directions.Image Could Not Be FoundImage Could Not Be Found It is on the Starlights lookout rd which I suggest you look at.Image Could Not Be Found
