Hi We are planning a boating trip down the
Murray River - starting at
Renmark through to Walkers Flat. Wondering if anyone has done this before, we are wondering where we can fill up with fuel, will be carrying a couple of Jerrys but will need to refuel somewhere, somehow. ???? Can anyone help.
Our boat has a Yamaha 200HP 4 Stroke, fairly economical.
Thanks

There are plenty of
places to purchase fuel, just some that you may have a bit of a walk to. You can get fuel at
Berri (walk), Loxton (w)
Moorook, Waikerie,
Morgan (w)
Blanchetown (w) Swan Reach. Should be able to get to Walkers Flat from there although Nildottie has fuel and a walk too LOL
River is a picture at the moment.

You might need to
check that all the Locks are operating as a number have works hapening ATM. Lock 1 is OK not sure about 2 and 3. nos. 4,5&6 should be OK too

Lexic doesn't have a boat. Petrol is an easy walk at
Moorook and
Kingston on Murray. Not too far at Swan Reach. I wouldn't like to carry jerries to the servo at
Blanchetown. Lexic is right about the locks certainly 2 is not operatioanl atm.

Hi wife and I have done
Mannum to
Blanchetown -
Blanchetown to Loxton and
Berri to Customs House in our Whittley . You'll love it. On the
Blanchetown to Loxton trip I was able to leave the car and trailer at
Blanchetown and then get on the bus at Loxton back to
Blanchetown at the end of the trip - pick up the car and trailer and go back to Loxton to pick up the boat.
At
Berri i left the car and trailer at
Berri caravan Park for a week or so while we headed up river and back. The friendly gentleman owner didn't even charge me for the launch and car/trailer
parking.
We got some fuel at at a caravan park at
Kingston-on-Murray but it is a fairly long walk to the pumps and back to the little jetty. It's one of the prettiest little jettys/landings we saw.
Well worth staying overnight there we thought.
What we use to do was take a small, light folding briefcase trolley and just tote the full jerry can on that back and forth when filling up on the Murray.
Cheers
George

All good info has already been supplied but I just wanted to also say how beautiful it is at the moment, you're making the best decision.
I'm not sure on the rules but if you're allowed to catch Yabbies all year round, definitely take the yabbie pots, there's so many (
well there was when we there at
Easter!)

Yabbies are still plentiful especially in the creeks and back waters.
