Hi All
I would like to ask yet another Solar question, but not your usual fold up solar panels. I phoned one of our reps today to ask for a Staff pricing and he said to hold off for a few weeks, as they are about to release the new "Power Film" type solar panels.
I have just googled "Power Film" and they look a very flexible and are they as good as the standard type solar panels that are on the market today.
I know there are a couple of experienced readers out there and would like to hear on your thoughts of this type of product.
Cheers
Stephen

I had a look at flexible solar panels a while back now and came to the conclusion that as they were amorphous and a 64 watt panel was 2847mm long ( Yes 2.8 metres !!) - I decided not to go ahead with any potential purchasing until they
change to a mono-crystalline type ( assuming that is possible ) ..
But I have to admit the possibilities are enormous - I've also read somewhere that they are getting closer to being able to print Solar collectors onto a medium weight fabric ( ie a tent roof ) - great idea but very expensive I would think .
Cheers

Hi Steve
Thanks for your quick reply. To be honest, I do not know a lot about Solar and had never hear of Power Film before making the call. I wonder why they are so big in size for that power output.
Thanks for the reply.
Cheers

Here's a link to some I was looking at .. 136 watt rollable panel nearly 6 metres long - great for up north on the roof .. But very expensive from memory compared with standard framed panels ..
Rollable Solar Panel

If you MM Robin Miller he has a solar panal on the roof of his older Patrol, I beleive that he dismantled a panal frame and then stuck the actural panal to the roof of the car as it was felexable. This might suit what you want.
