Heading out west once again from the GC with 100 kids in tow. As the tour medic I'm wondering if the biters such as mozzies will be an issue this year. They haven't in the past. We're going out to
Winton via
Mitchell and
Longreach then heading east again via Barky to
Yeppoon then back down the coast.

Thanks guys - fortunately I give them back to their parents after the ten days. If you are there we will be performing in
Longreach and
Barcaldine at the van parks there so if you are in the mind for some bush poetry a la Banjo Paterson and some old classic Aussie bush songs then we will be happy to entertain you.

hi, hope you enjoy your trip to the west ( THE ONLY PLACE TO BE) if you have the time drop into the
blackall wool scour, interesting for kids and adults alike. they are now doing bush cooked evening meals. if you do the tour
check out the old Lister shed engine which i donated last year. biters shouldent be a problem this time of year. enjoy bill

Interesting news. When traveling west I always used to stay at the
Blackall van park because of the
camp oven meals and Gary Lowe - a great bush poet! When we arrived in
Mitchell with the kids last year the van park guys asked us if we'd like to have a bush poet visit at no cost and lo and behold it was Gary. Apparently the
Blackall van park went 'upmarket' and both the
camp oven cooking and the bush poetry was considered to be unnecessary with the advent of new owners. Gary is now happily esconced in
Mitchell.
Blackall's loss and
Mitchell's gain
I'm delighted to hear that you are continuing on with this very Australian tradition of
camp oven cooking. We stop at
Blackall for lunch so won't have time to visit but we really appreciate the invite.
I wonder how the park is getting on........hmmm.

Thank you. It's hard work being part of looking after 100 kids but it is also very rewarding and especially for me as I love western QLD.
Can I give a plug here for the bus company - Kangaroo Bus Lines. They now have a huge fleet of buses doing tours and safaris all over Queensland and
well beyond. They always send two cooks, one of whom actually owns the company and she's brilliant with our kids. How's that for service!

hi, best of luck with your group of kids, i know what your up against i used to take school charters 3 coach loads at a time to out back qld, spent most of my time doing head counts & buying food take a supply of peronel insect reppelent if the flies are bad it stops a lot of arm waving. i am not attached to the
blackall wool scour in any way,
blackall its
my home town so i visit there quite often. enjoy the west. bill k
