Hi All,
I'm about to upgrade the old van a bit, and was wondering why gas cooktops for caravans are so much dearer than domestic ones.
Does anyone know of the physical differences, and are there any legal reasons why I can't use a domestic cooktop which is manufactured to run on LPG?
And yes, (before I get jumped on by the self-appointed regulatory police) I will be using a licensed gas fitter.
Cheers,
Seagecko.

Seagecko,
Possibly due to safety shut-off when lid closed or partially, safety cut-out on burners. Probably more so to lower manufacturing volume.

Possibly because it is designed to run off high pressure gas - ie direct from the cylinder like most camping stoves. You need a low pressure one to run on a gas system in a van. Does it run directly from a cylinder without a regulator?

I see no reason why, apart from the fact that they are larger. Your gas fitter should be full bottle on your question.
