After my
breakdown last Friday (earlier post) I got the GU back this afternoon.
Rang the dealer at 3-00pm to be told it was ready to be picked up. I was told that the only fault was the EGR valve.
When I asked if it was a common problem I was told that it was quite rare. But fortunately they had when on hand because it had been ordered in for someone else. Obviously someone else didn't complain loudly enough.
Touch wood, there were no problems getting the car
home.
Has anyone had a similar problem with a GU.
On a different note, I got a new dash-pod delivered today. Ordered it last week from 'Dept of Interiors'. Installed it as soon as I got
home. Just want to give the product a plug. Fits great. Looks good. And the service was good. Highly recommended.

Hi Andrew,
Glad to read that your problems have been sorted and that you're back on the road. I guess I'll also eat some humble pie and give credit to the dealer for a good diagnosis and getting your problems sorted with minimum hassle.
Regards,
Hugh

First thing you can do is disable the EGR valve. Doesn't do any harm and apparently results in a slight improvement in performance (very slight).
Then you won't have the problem again.

The dash pod is simply an extension to the dash to provide room for accessories. I bought
mine to fit extra guages and a radio into. Their made to match the original manufacturers materials.
