In terms of Cape York, does anyone know where the best place is to leave a camper trailer if we decide not to take it up?
It is an off road trailer, but we aren't sure if we should take it to the top or not.

Thanks guys!

Hi. I did the Cape as many others have done. I took a Tvan behind my then Xtrail. I had no problems on the trip up or back. The only problem was the creek at the turn off to on the last leg. A bit rough along this stretch but only about 5 ks. I left the Tvan at Loyalty Beach Camp Ground for the last stage but there were a few Camper Trailers in the car park when we got to the Cape.

Hi

We took our Jayco outback as far north as Bramwell Station last year. This is just before the start of the Telgraph Track and ideal place to leave the trailer if you want to travel this track wihtout towing. They allowed us to leave it there at no cost but it was just packed up and parked in an area away from the camping ground (They don't take any repsonsibiltuy for it). If you are taking the the development road then an off-road trailer should be able to handle it. Corrugations are the main issue and driving to the conditions should get you through.

Regards

Heaps of camper trailers up here at present. The road is just a glorified dirt road if you take the Heathlands bypass from Bramwell and stick to the main track. A few patches of corrugations but nothing bad. I can't answer for sidetracks to Captain Billy's Landing etc
The main worry is not the road itself, but the fact you are a long way from assistance. But there are plenty of travellers, you won;t be stranded.

Gday,

We are in cairns at the moment just back from the top. We took our Coromal PS421 to everywhere but through the telegraph track, bit too rough for ours but heaps did go through. We left it at Bramwell for a couple of days and drove the track.
I beleive yo can leave them in Laura somewhere however.
Best trip ever by the way...
