Hi Guys,
Just a quick question about dtronic, does anyone have one, the power & torque outputs are quite impressive on their web page but I could not find any mention of fuel consumption!
Do they get the power gains at the cost of fuel?
I am looking at fitting to 2002 3lTd Hilux, they say that it will go from 84 to 102 kw.

Any info would be good...

Thanks, Rowler

Search the archives its been talked about..

Few mates have them in 3.0 GU's to try and make them useable, yes they love them. The power graph from his car is almost 100% identical to the Dyno figures he was shown by Safari on it.

One bloke in our club has taken it with him into his new GU.

Unbeilievably, in my experience with the Unichip ( petrol version ) my consumption was reduced.
Hard to believe, I know, but I've had 2 in 2 different vehicles and the results were the same.
More power, less fuel.
It's a great product.

Josh.

not unbelievable mate, most new cars are tuned incredibly rich especially at wide open throttle / full load conditions. the computers are set up to a generic setting to protect against abuse, as every motor is different when you tune them individually you can usually pick up some efficiency - hence power.
new gen 3 holdens can pick up 20 - 30 kw easily when the mapping is re tuned, on the other hand the v6 jackaroo and rodeo has a full lambda learning computer - it is constantly adjusting and learning new states of tune. and the unichip style interceptor products are of no benifit to them.Moo... everyone knows what a Jackaroo looks like :-)
