Has anybody recently done the Ducan Road and can give me a road report. I am contemplating going down there to
Halls Creek in a couple of days towing a van.
Thanks
Alan

Nothing recent Alan, but unless the
Negri River is high over the crossing (it was dry apart from pools when we went that way in 2008), or the weather is wet (clay road)it will be an easy run for you. If in doubt, call the Shire of
Halls Creek - (08) 9168 6007. Worth visiting Marella
Gorge - you need to get permission from the people at Nicholson Station and they will give you directions. We spent a night at
Negri River and another at Marella, spending the next morning exploring the tracks further along the cutting. See My Blog.

Hi Alan,
Drove up the Duncan from Nicholson Station 2 and a bit weeks ago. Road is fine although still water over the road in quite a few
places (at crossings) May be better now. Take it easy, tyre pressures down a bit and you should have no probs. Hope your van is not just an on road one as it still is a little rough in a few
places.
Regards from Col.

Hi Alan, we drove from
Halls Creek to Sawpit
Gorge and back again 5 days ago, the road was corrugated but not too bad quite stoney in
places watch your tyres, your Bushtracker should cope OK, some of the dips/creek crossings were damaged but take them slowly and you will be fine. I got a Tek screw in a tyre on this road! And put a
rock through the treads on another one going down to Wolfe Creek the day before (unrepairable, bugger. ) Take your time and enjoy, your van may be too big to get into Sawpit but
Palm Springs if worth a look. Cheers, Kanga.

G'day Alan
I go out on the Duncan every day about 25km from the turn off from
Halls Creek in a two wheel drive and it is a bit rough in
places.
Before you come across it might be a good idea to
check the wheel nuts.
I helped a lady the other day on the Duncan to change a wheel. I and although I carry a bit of weight I had to bounce several times on
the nut remover to get 2 of them off.
By the time she had stopped there was not much left of the tyre,, thank goodness. It wasn't too heavy to put in
the tub. LOL
Chees only another another 11 days before we fly out,,,,yipee
