Hi Guys,
When my Pajero (2002 with 90k km) is stationary it occasionally develops a shake. On a long drive on the weekend as I went up a hill-climb a much more serious shake would develop and only go away when I eased off accelerator. It seems to occur when it is gear change time (it is auto). Any ideas what my likely problem is? Cheers & thanks.

Check the Transmission mount I believe it has some sort of harmonic counter balance on it.

Plugs or leads could be stuffed and breaking down under load.

Had a car once that did that and got out one night and looked under bonnet.
Was a fireworks display as plug leads were shorting onto a heater hose fitting coming out of the block.

Possible electrics breaking down under load but if not, get trannie checked.
Rather a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy!

Thanks to everybody who assisted and gave suggestions it was very much appreciated and reflects what a great community you are. As it turned out it was an electricals issue. #6 cylinder was not functioning due to a cracked spark plug and lead arcing out. The prob was exacerbated by an oil leak from the cover gasket. HT leads were replaced etc.

Thanks again.
