Heading up to Innaminka and Cameron Corner via the Flinders Ranges next week, and wondering if the mouse plague has died down or not.

Thanks

It has died down a lot at Roxby, still the odd one about but nothing like what we had.

I was camped in parachilna gorge 2 nights ago - didn't see a mouse.
A few mice around Farina, Tibooburra, Camerons Corner and lower Strezlecki track but nothing dramatic.
Quite a few mice at the ferry crossing on Birdsville track and up the Oodnadatta Track.

Keep your vehicle shut and tent zipped up - just one mouse inside your vehicle can create havoc - pretty hard to find the buggers, as two of our vehicles found out!!

I've just had a group go through Cameron Corner to Birdsville via Innamincka (leaving Birdsville this morning for Haddon Corner) and no reports of mice. Also had a group go through the Flinders, Copley William Creek, Painted Desert to Coober Pedy (there now) and apart from 3 mice in the hotel at William Creek, no issues. They are headed for the Ferry on the Birdsville track, anyone know what the queue's are like? Reports back from my guides are that there is a LOT of people out and about at present.

Hi Dave
I wish it was, Wayne was in the Kimberley and unfortunately he suffered a heart attack a few days ago, he's in Darwin Hospital, will be flown home next week for some surgery. Have to say, we've had great assistance from Dan, the manager at Kimberley Land Caravan Park in Kununurra.

No mice at Cameron Corner or the Flinders, but had mice running up our legs around the camp fire at Innaminka. This was three weeks ago.

Hi Graham,
I was at Cameron Corner on Thursday and did not see any mice. We were at Innaminka last night and there were a few mice about and the odd rat. Tonight we are at Birdsville and no sign of any mice just a few rats running around the caravan park. You just need to make sure that eveything is shut up to keep the little buggers out.

Cheers

Thanks All. Fortunately it looks like it won't be a problem. My wife was living in Balranald during the mouse plague in the early 80s, and didn't want to go through it all again.
