Hello fellow travelers,
I was after some opinions if possible. We are planing our first big trip. Traveling from Mackay through the inland route to Victoria, via Goondawindi, Dubbo,
Echuca,
Ballarat, and the Great Ocean Road. Then out to
Lakes Entrance. My question is what is the best way back? Or things to see? Considering we have to boys 7 & 5. Is it better going via
Jindabyne,
Canberra, Bull Mountains. Towoomba
Home. Or follow the coast road? Has anyone roughly done this trip? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The total of the trip will be 4 - 5 weeks max. I look forward to hearing your
feedback.

Bring plenty of warm clothes, and -10 sleeping bags, as it is cold as down here, near Phillip Island, on the sth coast of Vic.
Check out the
Penguin Parade, and the Vietman Muesum, on Phillip Island, if you can handle horizontal rail and really cold winds.
Wonthaggi has a Coal
mine tour, and it's brilliant.
Giant worm, at Bass.
If you want really cold then head for the snow fields at Mt Baw Baw.. Brrrrrrrrrr !
Ballarat has Eureka Stockade, and Kriel Castle (spelling)
If you do the great Ocean Rd, then
check out the 12 (11, 10) Appostles, and
Loch Ard Gorge, thaey are almost together, and is brilliant.
Echuca has some brilliant river rides in Paddle Steamers.
Heaps to do Hope you enjoy ?
Cheers
Bucky
