Hi all,

Took this movie shot back in March this year on a 4WD trip to Leeman in WA, due to the rising of sea water temperature hundreds of dead fish laid scattered along the shore line, it went for miles.

VERY SCARY STUFF

cheers and all the best,
stamps

get a life stamps and get the facts before posting that rubbish. the temp rise would need to be huge if that was to blame.

You might want to settle down raincloud and get your own facts, it dosent take much for the rising of sea water temperature to effect marine life lots of data out there and i guess lots of uncertainty and scepticism.

cheers and all the best,

A shift in current, and local tidal movements, would mainly be the cause.
It's not that sea temps rise, that quickly.

Hi raincloud
Could you please post a link to the correct explanation as I am interested in this topic. The only things i can find on their web site relates to "marine heatwave" in media release section. thanks

An older release, similar circumstances where Fisheries say essentially the same thing as the ABC.

I must be missing something - I can't find where anyone but Raincloud has mentioned climate change??.

I was at Jurien boating at that time. Water was murky and jellyfish stingers everywhere. Didn't get a single cray in five pulls of four pots in the water. Plenty of mackies being caught tho.

My sounder read as high as 29 degees. Stamps is correct - it was scary and dead fish were everywhere.

Cheers.

I live in Geraldton and walk my dog every day on the beach and it was totally distressing to see so many dead marine animals. Also it has been the very worst year for sea hares being washed ashore which are extremely toxic to dogs.

I can't say what caused it except we had the most unusual summer here. Gone was the southerly which keeps the temperature reasonable and in its place tropical humidity which threw my electricity bill up by $500!

Yup John it was VERY scary.

Cheers
Jo

went snorkling near cervantes and had to leave the water as blue bottles were thick

No idea if that thing can alter ocean currents/ temps, but definitely something "fishy" going on IMO....

Did that. No mention of Climate Change.

You're just a troll - another Climate Change Sceptic W'r.

"Dr Jones said these were natural events precipitated by the combination of calm oceans and hot weather conditions.

“The occurrence of low dissolved oxygen levels is a natural regional phenomena,” he said".

Get off.
