Took the kids up to Bunya Mt for the weekend, never been there before and was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful pace and so close to
Brisbane, a bit cold though but
well worth it. Cheers MickImage Could Not Be FoundImage Could Not Be Found

Looks like a nice spot. Have thought of going there a few times, but had heard it is not suitable for caravans, although can see some in the background.
What was the
actual location of that photo Michael/Chris? I was thinking of going up that way to miss the
Toowoomba Range on the way out to
Roma, how were the roads/hills?

Hi Ken, The photo with the vans in the background was at Cooyar about a half hour drive from the Bunya Mt and about 10 deg warmer. The road is much steeper and alot more twisty than the
Toowoomba range so suitable for a van. Still worth having a look but maybe leave your van at Cooyar. Don't forget the thermals. Cheers Mick

I can put in a vote for being a nice spot as we have been catching up with my wifes family every year for 8 or 9 years now and still haven't got tired of the cooler weather and lovely green country side, it's not unusal to get fogged in untill 10am in the middle of January.
We stay at "Rice's log cabins" it is very
well priced for what you get and only a short walk (down a steep
hill) to the bush trails. I have no affiliation with them just a happy camper.
Michael and Chris are the walking trails open again? last time we were there was when all the floods were on and they closed the mountain to all holiday people a couple of days after we arrived.
Well worth a look
regards
Trev6

Trev 6,
Yes the walking trails were open ( I wasn't aware they were closed). We will be back for another look at a later date as it's only a few hours from
Brisbane. Makes a great weekender. Cheers Mick

We live in Nanango and go up for lunch occasionally, we head up through Maidenwell, and think it is the best road if you want to take a small van up, there is some dirt up it is normally ok. Have not come up from
Dalby for some time, but would not try to come up from Kumbia with a van.
Would have been nice and cool up there last weekend, Kingaroy got down to -4.7 Saturday, when it is around 35 deg at
home in Summer we go up and find it can be 10 deg lower, beautiful. One Boxing day it was 7 deg with a little rain hahahahaha
