We will be travelling to Fraser in the next few days and was planning on going up the beach from Noosa all way up to Rainbow.
Has anybody crossed over on the Leisha and Mudlo Rocks recently or is the Freshwater track up to Rainow a better option?
thanks!

Went up Wide Bay around Mudlo rocks several weeks ago at dead low tide. The rocks were well buriedd and passage was dead easy . The Leisha track was easy and Freshwater track pretty straight forward also

Remember you now need a vehicle access permit which can be bought near the the Tewantin barge at QPWS office/ information centre

Yep permits sorted thanks.
Last year we were up there ,the Ranger station said the Leisha track was unpassable when you get to the Rainbow beach side, as there was a shifting lagoon. When we got to the end of the track it was as busy as Pitt Street , so seems like the Rangers advice was out of date?
Anyway, we will just go and see what is going on!

It was passable on the Rainbow Beach side- not a lot of room but passable . You will of course need to work the tides and go through that area close to the low.

I was told by the rangers yesterday that Mudlo rocks is fine 2 hours either side of low tide when I purchased my permit at Rainbow yesterday.

I'll find out for sure tomorrow morning....

On the other hand we drove Freshwater Track this afternoon and it's pretty easy going. A little cut up after the school holiday break but nothing to be particularly concerned about.

Have a great trip to Fraser...

Just to let you know, drove through there today. Went onto the beach at Rainbow, around, through Leisha track and back along Freshwater.

Easy going, we past Mudlo about 1 1/2 hours before low tide and is was smooth sand driving straight past. Leisha track was a little cut up, but nothing serious at all.

I'm victorian (So not a lot or regular sand driving experience) and I had no troubles at all.

Have a great Trip.
