I have just bought myself a new 2011 Pajero that has come with a OEM tow bar, I have a Haymen Reese load levelling hitch from my previous car. Could you please let me know if this will fit into the female receptacle on the OEM bar?

Probably won't fit, didn't on my Challenger anyway.
I just manually filed the four edges down a bit, probably took 30 minutes from memory. Others use angle grinders.
Cheers

Thanks for this, I went down to the dealership last night and gave it a go. Luckily for me it appears that it will fit, I need to invert
the neck so it ill clear the spare tyre but that is pretty easy. It will only cost me a bit of bark off the knuckles when the spanner slips off the nuts as they invariably do.

Hi Paul, What Ken88 said is correct. You should look on the Pajero Club of Victoria web site for further info very friendly
forum just like this one & special section for your model. Great choice of vehicle.
Check that your Sonar (The beep you hear when an object is close to the rear of the vehicle when reversing) is working. That is when you put it into reverse & there is an object behind you like a van or camper trailer you can turn the reversing sensor off with the sonar switch left of the steering column. Usually with the H/Reece set up they fit a OEM towing loom which does not operate the manual switch on the dash. It can be a pain if you cannot turn the "Beep" off when reversing van or camper. They usually fit a flat tow plug but will give you an adaptor for free....at least my dealer did. Good luck & you'll love that car.

I drove a hire car pajero on two occasions from
brisbane to Cunnumulla and was impressed, that's why I ended up with one. Besides the Prado has a long wait to delivery, 200 series is too expensive for what you get and I think the 3L patrol has a small engine for such a large car (There has bee quite a number of engine problems reported) and where I work had a number of these patrols and they were not that impressed. It is a shame because I am a patrol man at heart. Can't wait for the V8 Diesel model! Have a baby on the way (2 kids already) so a dual cab wasn't going to fit the bill nor the Jeep models.
Thanks again.
