planing a trip up there in a couple of weeks and was wondering if the country has dryed out in this area.

Hi Kerry
We were there 6 weeks ago for a week and everything was rather wet through steady rain. Started raining around 2am one night and all of the next day. The place was fairly wet. It has rained on and off since then. Believe they got around 2.5mm yesterday or, the day before.
If in doubt go the black top via Hedland.

G'day Kerry F & Tony S

The region has had several days/nights of steady rainfall between 2 and 12 mil.
The Newman to Nullagine road (Old Great Northern Highway) is still closed to all traffic today. The Hillside Station/Woodstock to Marble Bar road would be closed seeing its all unsealed. Telfer village had 11 mil ~ so the northern approach to the Rudall River N/P would be adversely affected. if not impassable.
