Just a quick question for anyone who might know of the road conditions to
Cape York. Probably heading off in a week. We are a large 4x4 and looking for the best road to the top. thanks

Try this link
Cape Road Conditions
There is only really one road to the TOP the PDR - There is no real issues with this dirt highway.
There are some side trips you can do, but you have to come back to the PDR to get to the Top.
North of Bramwell it splits in too two options, In a large 4x4 you can take the Old telegraph Track or take the Bypass track to the East. Both are no issue, the telegraph track is the one to take so you can have a wee bit of a 4x4 experience. the bypass is a lot further but most likely quicker.

What Tony says
About 70km of moderate to severe corrugations along the way and via the bypass roads. I towed an old van up here. No worries.
There are numerous water crossings but nothing deep via this way
At present sitting at
Umagico Campground at The Top, absolute beachfront. Weather is overcast at 29C...Bliss.....lol
Cheers

You are making me jealous Spero, the temp finally crept up to 11C here today.
Couldn't see
the beach either.
