Hi,
I'm having a new caravan manufactured with Cruise Master 3700Kg on Tandem chassis built in
Melbourne by G&S.
Caravan weight will be around 2900Kg.
Intention is mostly sealed road usage but will take dirt roads on occasion.
I'm seeking advise on is this best or should I opt for some other
suspension manufacturer?

Hi,

suspension on my 3.5 tonne ATV Kedron recently returned from a 50k trip around '
the block' all road conditions.... not one problem with the
suspension (or the van)....very happy

To be fair to the readers, a bit more info is required - the TARE weight for the van would be good, .... and Cruisemaster make various
suspension types - can you detail which particular one you have ordered ?

Just Remember. The more moving parts the more to go wrong. Stick to solid axels

MSI,
Mate I have the Cruisemaster under my Goldstream Storm, I am currntly in
Darwin and have just completed the Gibb and
Mitchell Falls with the van, it road and performed flawlessly. On the black top our van seems to ride a little soft and spongy, a bit like a big old fairlane, but on the rougher corrigated roads it rides very
well, stuff inside the van, like food in cupboards and fridge etc, seemed to ride
well also with nothing moving, I've got the Gulf and
Cape York coming up in the next couple of months, so it will be
well and truly tested by then. One issue I have, is that one tyre (single axle) is wearing poorly on the outside, so some sort of allignment issue, I'm not sure how an adjustment can be made to remedy this? I have just reminded my self to contact them!
Cheers.....Browny
P.S. I also saw some of the more "traditional" tough off road campers up those parts, and some with leaf spring
suspension issues, but they also seem to be the Campers driven way to fast for the conditions, because people seem to think there camper trailors are bullet proof with leaf springs, many unfortunately discoverd they aren't!

We have the Cruise Master Ind Air on our
Jimboomba C/T and would not fit another
suspension to a van or camper. I would talk to them about the air
suspension for your van.
