PradoMad,

Firstly congratulations on your choice (Outback or Singapore).
Just look at how many hours of driving experience you got!
The work you put into the video clip is to be commended.

Thank you for sharing,

Jim

stay very positive and just DON'T give up. I nearly lost my wife 12 years ago but she pulled through.
It's a great world out there.

well done on the clip, found myself looking at some places we visited just last year, and also found myself tapping my foot along to your choices of music.

Wow...thank you. I just love it - both the video and the music.

You have captured so well the essence of those roads and places where most people never venture - the interesting signs and the moving landscape. And to spend that time with your son is invaluable and precious. Good on you!

We have a caravan so are limited as to where we go however my favourite parts of the trip we are currently still doing have been those off the bitumen..Willandra N Pk in west NSW, the Oodnadatta track, camping and walking in the Macdonnell ranges......I also spend much time on the dirt roads taking photos from the front passenger seat on the sport setting as we move through the area.

Still have almost a month to go and we are yet to get back to Boulia, Windorah and beyond. I am so looking forward to the free camps, the camp oven meals and the starry nights...

Despite the red dust, mice, slower bumpy roads - I never tire of it and just hunger for more...maybe its time we went back to a simpler travelling rig and left the van behind!

Regards,

Heather

"Thanks for the memories"

Enjoyed every second of it.

Bet a lot of bonding went on and how great to be just the 2 of you.

Haven't been out west since 1984 when there were no tar roads past Bourke

wow..great feedback!
Thank you all for your nice comments. I have seen many places in this awesome country of ours and I'm trying to get my kids to appreciate what a special place the Australian outback is.
I believe there's a certain amount of magic which is difficult to explain as there are so many elements that captivate one's imagination.

Congratulations! I must say I am really impressed not just by the presentation you put together but also that you were prepared to invest the time and effort in your son. I am sure you will both fondly look back on that time together in future years . PS love your truck...long live the 95 series!

Hey PradoMad

What a timely thread. We have been planning a similar trip for a while, had hoped to have gone in these school holidays but work kept getting in the way [bloody mortgage!]. Ended up with a long weekend on the Murray.
Seeing your video has made us realise what we missed out on, and has also given us a preveiw of the driving conditions as it was to be our first road trip.

Thanks
Richard

Well done,

Your kid probably has more driving experience than 99.9% of the city kids out there getting their experience driving down to Bunnings on a Saturday morning.

Would love to see a video of the reaction when he hands in his experience log book.

Rob.

PradoMad

I read somewhere once that good Dad's take their sons camping.

What a great trip and the best thing about it is that you went with your son.

I have done two trips with my son, in 2009 we went with a mate of mine to do Goog's Track and that was good.

Then in 2010 my son asked if I would take him to the Bridsvilled Track ferry, instead of the Gold Coast for Shcoolies...no brainer really. We had a ball and I know it brought us closer.

I didn't make a video but I have all the memories. They came flooding back as I watched your video. Thanks
