Bit of competition for the other two
well known brands might do us some good, especially if sales drop off the other two due to cheaper buying price.I personally wouldnt buy one till they had been out for while and to see how the likes of ARB, TJM etc go with after market stuff, generally indicates wether they will be popular or not. Plenty of the great wall utes getting about modified ones as
well, even have a website on them now for all owners, seem to be quit a very capable 4x4 ute at half the price of a hilux..........................

It is good to see another engine manufacturer coming on board for 4WDs. Cummins have been around for a long time in the Truck and Marine industry and build a pretty good unit.
The Foton started life from a Rodeo with the 4JT1 2.8 TD motor and I read a
test some where that the tester said he would rather have the Foton then the Rodeo, interesting.
Was it a Foton that the Chinese raced in the Last Dakar?

Isuzumu,
My mechanic has been on my back about putting a 5.9L Cummins in my patrol. I said if he puts it in for free I will buy it, that slowed him down. Would be good, Jake brakes would be cool and 400hp. Cheers Mick

Yep and at around 470KG might need new bigger springs in the front of the Nissan mate. lol
Cummins have a 3.8 litre motor to, have not been able to find any info on it as yet.

Crickey, he had one out of a Dodge ram, I didn't think it was that heavy. I think I will stick with my Mitsubishi Canter 4x4 build up.

They are a nice looking ute and I quite like the Santa FE, but I am old hat and prefer rear wheel drive against most of the soft roaders FWD biased.

I think Apple has a go at Hyundai for the "i" range of cars and trucks iLoad, i30 etc
I think the last think Toyota need is a long drawn out legal case which basically advertises Hyundai...
