All Terrain (AT) Tyres

When you are looking for a compromise between off-road capability and good on-road manners, an All-Terrain (AT) tyre is the way to go.

Has any one had any experience with Federal Couragia A/T's. they seem to be similar Bridgestone's D694's.

Gday Ed,
My daughter's 80series runs a set of 235/85R16 Couragias and I have 3 on my Tvan and a friend is running a set of 285/75R16 on his Patrol.
They are a very good offroad tyre - strong 3-ply sidewall, make no noise, balance with little weights, and haven't chipped on the SA outback roads. They are made in Taiwan. None of us have had a puncture.
But you won't get the high mileage you may get from say a D694.
But they are a better tyre than most of the well advertised, overpriced brands from USA - cost $225 each for the 235's and $250 each for the 285's.

Thanks Phil.
You confirm what I have been told. I will be running 215,70.16's on my X-trail towing our Ultimate.
we ran with standard bridgestone's when we towed ourCamp-O-Matic around SA, White Cliffs etc and they were OK but now feel we need a more aggressive tyre.
I have been quoted $176.00 ea sounds good don't you think?

The 3-ply sidewall doesn't come on all sizes - and I expect the 215/70 is a 2 ply sidewall, but expect that is in keeping with the smaller size. Should go fine on your Xtrail. I've been looking at the standard 215/65R16 size for our Tiguan and the Bridgestones cost $225 each, so $176 each sounds pretty good.
