G'day I've seen these cheap gps trackers on eBay ( search tk102 ) for around $60 . They come with a hard wire kit for you car. You basically put a phone sim in them & can send a SMS to it , it then replies with it's gps whereabouts..
Does anyone have one of these.. Thought it would be useful to install in my car & caravan incase they get knocked off ?

Hi ss--ss. Not too bad an idea but does that mean you have to buy a prepaid or monthly sim? If so does it matter which company as it could add up to a bit. Bob.

Have you looked at
the Spot Tracker? They will work without phone coverage through the satellite network and require a
sign up like a phone. They report you position to a web site and can send out an SOS if in distress etc. Have seen a few on the ADVRider.com Australain
forum Site Link for around $150 and the 1 year subscription for the service can be had for that too.

The new SPOT Connect is the next generation, with an App on your Smart Phone and Blue Tooth you can sent Text Messages, Twitter or email using
the Spot connect. 100 messages are something like $30.00 plus the yearly fee.
And NO you don't need Mobile service for it to work.

Cool
Had not seen them. Seems to be a box with the GPS mouse and the Satellite phone workings that you connect to via bluetooth. Wonder if it works if you brick your phone?
