I have a Goldstream Crown offroad poptop.
On a recent trip heading
home from FNQ we messed up and tried to raise the top without undoing one of the latches (left rear). BANG. I was able to prop it up for the night with dowells that i use to support the top and we subsequently made it back
home to the Sunshine Coast.
i have pulled out all the covers and can see that the wire has disconnected from the flexi-drive, but we have the inhouse shower/
toilet model and the only way i can see to get to that corner is to pull the lot out.
The local Goldstream distributor rubbed his hands together and said "it will be expensive".
Does anyone know a good fixer within 200km of
Brisbane.

Grab the yellow pages and ring everybody within distance. Maybe advertise as help wanted on other forums. Have you got a mate with a few handyman skills? Excess can be just that!!!
God luck.

Thanks Bigfish, re handyman skills, we are farmers - so jack of all trades but master only a few. While we have done a lot of 4WD through deserts etc with a swag, we have only just upgraded to the van and I would hate to bugger it up with a dodgy fix.
i am working through the yellow pages. i found a string on ExplorOZ from a couple of years ago, where someone with the same problem was quoted $3k by Goldstream but got it fixed for $300 at Byron.
