G'day Alll, just to let you know current conditions of the road, there has been a fair bit of rain Docker River to Yulara, so anyone heading this way shgould check the NT conditions first, it is in a bad way at the moment with a fair bit of water around. There was talk that they were going to close it yesterday, but haven't heard anything further since then.
This side of the border we have only had a few light showers, and so far nothing to worry about, although rain has just started in Laverton, and could be around for a day or so.
Still nothing here yet, but that could change tomorrow.
Happy travels.
Cheers
Al

And we were the first vehicles to go west on Tuesday on the GCR once the road was opened :)

One has to get a Tjukayirla Burger when on the GCR, about the best i have had.

The road around Docker River was flooded when we went thru East on the 12th, was closed very shorty after. Our return West on the 18th still had plenty of water around and some chopped up roads.

Cheers

No Worries Al, you run a nice clean roadhouse with good prices considering the location, so happy to pay to keep it there :)

The GCR going east was fine, there was only 1 section for about a km that was soft. The area around Docker River is very bad, still soft and very chewed up for a long way (~30kms), will need the grader thru before its nice and smooth again.

Hope we meet again, but it was 17 years ago that I last did the GCR - toooo long between drinks ;)

Cheers

Captain

PS. Whats the story behind your cutdown Pajero in the Caravan Park, was it a rollover?

Thanks mate, well hopefully you dont leave it that long to come through again :-)

yeah mate, the Pajero was a rollover, we cut the top off it and now use it as a work buggy, it's come in very handy.
