We are heading over to the Flinders Ranges on 25th July and are hearing differing reports on the rats and mice. Can anyone tell us what the situation is around Hawker, Lajke Eyre etc.

Back from Marree Sunday night and they are certainly around.

Are they a drama? Not really. Just need to be sensible with your rubbish, esp at night.

I was at Hawker Big 4 caravan park last Tuesday and at Lyndhurst hotel on Wednesday night and saw neither rats or mice. Perhaps they were smart enough to stay out of the rain.
At William Creek I saw about 6 running around a gas stove and other gear that had been left in the breezeway in the dongas and one get stamped on in the kitchen of the hotel. At Bedourie the night before rats were reported to be around but we didn't see any.

At William Creek campground, Kings Canyon, Mt Ebenezer the mice were so bad we had three at a time sometimes trying to approach our setup....
The only thing,,,, it was annoying....

Make sure you dont have any firewall holes because we had one skoot in through a grommet and it ate parts of things for days because we couldnt find it..
Finally it escaped at Mount Dare...

We saw dozens of rats when we were driving but oddly enough when we stopped and camped they seemed to just be a noise in the bushes,,, didnt really show themselves..
