Hi, just wondering if anyone can give me current conditions on the
Birdsville track. Planning to travel to the races. E.g: If the track has been graded and any areas that may have large wheel ruts and deep waters I am aware that the ferry is in use.
Thanks for any info. Steven G1

The races are still over 5 weeks away and a lot can happen in that time, track conditions change daily and between now and the races anything can happen or been done.
Today the track may be fantastic and Monday next week wrecked due to unforeseen heavy rains.
So getting a report now means very little.
Best to find out a few days before leaving.
With outback traveling the best plains can all of a sudden be the thrown out the window and the only real way of knowing the track conditions is when your on it.

We're meant to be heading up into the northern Simpson again in a months time but we don't know if we can get into the areas we want.
The trip is still being planed and final decisions will be made over the week leading up to the departure date.
This is the same every year we go up... we have no idea util we are on the road.
It's one of the hardest thing with remote trip planing... reading the crystal ball.

This will be our first outback trip, but fortunately we will be travelling with experienced outback travellers. We are putting in a
plan b and c but as you said you really never know until you get there. Really looking forward to it.

Marree on
Birdsville track as far as ferry 2 days ago. Stoney
cooper creek end. Road works are on going so by the time you go could be differant. Could rain again also.
Check or post new
