Hi All
does anyone know where my other half and I would be able to hire a Tvan camper next
Easter?
We have considered buying one but we would like to trial one first.
Somewhere in SA or VIC would be handy.
Failing that any comment both positive or negative would be appreciated.
Thanks
Annie

Hullo Annie
There is a company in
Canberra that hires them - info@independenttrailers.com.au
If that is too far away, they might know of others in Vic or SA.
Alternatively, try Track Trailer themselves and they wouldprobably be able to point you in the right direction
Regards
Andrew

Norm
We hired a Guests Tvan for 6 weeks in June this year. We drove it up the Tanami Rd then up to
Cape Leveque & then the
Gibb River Road including
Mitchell Falls.
Russell from Guest 4WD was great. He showed us through the Tvan and was most pleasant to deal with. I would recommend Guest 4WD for hiring a Tvan.
You can view our Tvan trip to the
Kimberley at

Gday Landy
sounds like a great trip. So no issues with the tvan in water crossings?? Everything stayed dry inside??
Wish I could be north and away from this cold miserable weather in vic!

No issues whatsoever, packed up canvas wet a couple of times on the way
home, no problem at all. Water crossings are fine.

Annie,
I've done a couple of tough
treks with a mate who has one. They are bullet proof.
He has an ex-hire unit with a long drawbar to suit a Prado (or any other tow vehicle with a sideways opening rear door) - it tows beautifully and is easy to reverse. Dustproof, waterproof,
rock-solid
suspension.
A quirky annexe, but once you get it worked out it's fine.
It's not large, but it's light and you can take it anywhere the vehicle will go. If it suits you accommodation-wise, I don't think you can go wrong.
Cheers

Just came back from a 16000km adventure through the deserts to the
Pilbara,
we did around 10000km of dirt roads as
well as tracks, Gunbarrel, Anned Beadell x 2
Gary Hwy and Connie Sue etc, no issues. We have had our Tvan just under 4 years and have clocked up about 45000km, Just do regular servicing and lots of TLC after a trip. Its like new except for a few stone chips. We think it's been a great investment now and into the future. We also spend a lot of time in the High Country and often end up with wet canvas. This is not an issue as our bed stays dry. Desert Oak would be worth a call to hire one, once you do this you will be hooked.
You can view our travel blogg by looking googling Simonejacob as spelt. Lots of
views of the van.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and comments.....muchly appreciated. Looks like we will have fun next
easter trying out the Tvan. We have asked lots of people about them and watched one being set up when we were camped just outside
Quilpie.
They certainly look fantastic and we would have appreciated one that night when the rain started.....but our swag kept us warm and dry...we just had to wait the next morning to roll it up!!
Anyway I am getting off topic, which was to say Thanks for your help!!
Catch you all around...
Annie :-)
