Hi all,
I'm still new to this so please be genital :)
We have just brought our first camper(WOO HOO) and are looking to install a twin 9kg gas bottle set up. we have a jayco flamingo outback.
Have tried a quick search and couldn't find much.
just wanted to know how everyone has done it? I cant work out how I can install 2 bottles and the jerry can holder and still be able to get the poles onto the bed support lugs???
I called jayco and they put me onto there spare parts people who were less than helpful.
and help or photos would be a great help!
Cheers and safe travels!!

Why don't you mosey along to a caravan park or a place that sell used campers and have a look at their gas setup.

Hi Mud80,
Have a look at this thread, 81804. I know mark is talking about an other gerry can holder, but he has the twin gas bottle holder as
well as a pole holder.
Contact those members and see if they can send you a few pics of their set ups.
I believe Jayco sell all the bits needed to set it up.
Also try a Google Images search, that may have some pictures.
And
rock on down to a local Caravan park and have a walk about.
Cheers.

Hi mate,
when we had a goldstream we just welded a box section bar 100mm x 25mm across the camper draw bar then put 2 x 9kg gas bottles side by side with a jerry can holder next to them so they were all in a row. Just fitted inside the bed holderupper arms ( technical term ) my mate with a jayco hawke put his 2 x 9's side by side with a jerry can holder in front

Image Could Not Be FoundThis is my off road trailer A 9 kg gas bottle either side with 2 jerry spaces. I bought the gas rings and i just fabricated the jerry holder and welded it to a 4mm sheet with folded edges for strength and had it galvanised. Sorry about all the junk around the trailer but it will give you an idea.. Michael

gday mate. i have posted three pics of my Jayco Swan Outback with the twin jerry/gas bottle holders i made myself. i also asked at Jayco and the only thing i got was a blank look.
all i did was extend the original bracket on the bottom that the whole lot sits on and bought another jerry can holder ( i bought the swan with single of each on it).
the pole holders were on it when i purchased it,they mount on with the brackets to hold that size pvc pipe with.when i mounted the whole lot on , instead of welding it on i bolted it on just in case i needed to remove it at some stage.

i just cut and re-welded the bed support lugs slightly forward( only a couple of inches.

Watch the added drawbar weight though, that's an extra 60kg there.

mate i haven't noticed the extra weight being there. 60 kg's is minimal for a heavy frame like the Swan has, cheers.

That is some great work mate,
well done!
I was hopeing Jayco would do a twin bottle set up in maybe a kit or something, no stress, more things to play with in the shed now.
I think ill pinch a few of your ideas, hope you dont mind, that just looks too good!
Thanks again,
Cheers!

G'day, to keep the weight down maybe use two 4.5 kg bottles instead of two 9 kg bottles, just a thought..........

There was a retro fit kit because I put it on my Jayco Swan. You had to cut off the bed support legs. Bolt some new ones on and then the twin gas bottle holder bolted to the A frame. All brackets and fittings were included in the kit. I can take photos but you will need to remind me as it is Friday and beer drinking day!!!
It was an easy fit.
I am in Eastern suburbs of
Melbourne. You are welcome to come and have a look if you are over this way.
Cheers Graham
