Hi all.I am planning some general maintenance on the camper and camping gear. Just wondering where a person can get electrical items and gas equipment checked for safety?. Years ago there used to be the "safety watchit van" and you could take electical stuff to them to check it out. I haven't seen them around in ages. I wanted the gas regulator and hoses/joints for the camper stove checked out too. I'm ok with 12 volt stuff, but I don't muck with 240 or gas. Not sure if a 'household' electricion/gas plumber would do the job or would a caravan/camper retail outlet have service personnell to to the job? Thanks, doc.

A licensed electrician & licensed plumber are the go, in N.S.W. the power can be checked by a ticketed electric tagger as is classed as a extension cord as its not hard wired to a power source they can all give a certificate of compliance

I've only once had the certificate (plate) checked to see if it was in date & this was on entry to spirit of Tasmania (Melb) & only the gas & those that did not have certificates/plates were made to remove gas bottles from campers/caravans etc a were placed in a trolley & when they got to Tas picked them up & it was the same on the return

In many crossings it only has happened once
