I am thinking of purchasing a Dometic gas heater for my caravan, does anyone have any feedback or comments on these units as to their gas usage and effectiveness, or any other brand of gas heaters for caravans
Thanks Margaret B

Hi Margaret,Gas heaters without a flue to the outside can cause a lot of condensation in small areas, they also consume oxygen, so make sure there is some fresh air coming in.It would probably be ok while you are awake but the fumes have to go somewhere.Just use caution.

Ours is powered with diesel......that suits us fine because the fuel usage is absolutely minimal and the effeciency is amazing...wouldnt be without it.

but then again our tug is a diesel............any thoughts on not using the gas option?.....diesel is safer to cart

We fitted a 'Truma' LPG central heater to our new van.
It's even better than sliced bread and gas consumption in minimal.
No danger of carbon monoxide poisoning as some people rabbit on about.
Air for the heat chamber is taken fron the outside of the van and the exhaust is also to the the outside. The air inside the van is circulated in the heater so that after awhile it be heating warm air and thus improves efficiency and running costs.
