Team,
For years I have been searching for a product that will show me everything that the ScanGauge shows, but we all know that the ScanGauge does not work on all cars and the GU petrol Patrol is one of them due to not having ODBII. I was researching something completely different and I stumbled across a company called ecutalk that bridges this gap with a product that talks to the factory Consult diagnostic port with a plug/play type setup. Now I can see in real-time all sorts of interesting sensors (around 20), fault codes and fuel readings. I have had this product installed for around 3 weeks and it’s calibrated to around 700ml of being completely out of fuel.
I don’t know these guys nor do I have anything to do with them just a happy customer that can now see how heavy my right foot is!

Troll, I've had one for a few months now and it's paid for it's self, you can diagnose faults virtually on the go, very handy when in the bush.
Well worth the money.

Mike,
How accurate did you get your fuel reading?

I haven't worried/worked out about the fuel usage bit yet, it's on my list of things to do. Pity it didn't come with a user guide with a bit of explanation. Found the fault codes a boon already.

Troll,
It looks like there's a USB port there. Is it programmable via a laptop or PC?
And how many $$$$?
Cheers

Disregard the computer question, mate. I just found their website. It's an impressive unit.
Still curious re dollars, though :-)
Cheers

Cost about $230 bargain for what you get
It's funny how my driving style has changed since installing this unit when it comes to the right foot

Peter,
Here:
Ecutalk
But it looks like it's specifically for Nissan. :(

Thanks for that, now we need someone to locate units for other pre OBDII ports.
