Stephen and Robyn, Welcome to Mt Bundy.
Very pleased to meet 2 good West Aussie traveller's and EO Member today when Stephen and Robyn (GONE BUSH) arrived for a couple of days stay here at Mt Bundy. Stephen sent me an MM over the weekend saying they would leave
Kununurra on Monday and arrive here Thursday, The Toyota must have sprouted wings because they're here and it's only Tuesday, I did not see the name Thrifty on the doors either....lol, Anyhow it's good to finally meet them and will do my best to show them around the Station and the WW2 sites we have here.

And what a great visit it was.....
It was a pleasure to meet Doug in person.
Here's our
campsite at Mt Bundy:

Doug, I have to say, is a man of great intellect, acute observation skills and considerable compassion. If you get to Mt Bundy ask Doug to show you around the WW2 US Navy Radio site he has virtually uncovered from the bush single handedly. It is just incredible the amount of research and hard physical work that he has put in.
I won't steal his thunder because there is a lot to see but I'll post these 2 photos just to give you a taste:

Now Doug would be embarrassed for me to say this, but I will anyway. This project is a labour of love for Doug but it is of interest to a lot of people with a sense of history. Getting files and information from Archive websites costs money and I think it is appropriate to suggest that if you visit and are impressed with what Doug shows you then perhaps a gesture of support for his limited resources, commensurate with your budget, would help the project along.
Cheers Doug, it was a pleasure.
