I'm not sure, it isn't a huge truck but if you are talking caravan then they will not take any type of caravan, only trailers and camper trailers. Up to a certain length of trailer and vehicle (could be 9.8m, not sure) you can tow it on.

Does anyone have a contact for the truck operator?

I have a similar question in that a group will be coming back from Birdsville after the races and one of them is towing a AORC Quantum.

Need to make sure it can be taken across before we leave :)

Cheers
Steve

Brian,

Saw that bloke's truck there in June, and I'd suggest it would have a 20' body. It appeared to be an old Hino, or Isuzu, and pretty sure the body wouldn't be any longer.

We didn't take note of his phone number, as we didn't stop once we'd got off the ferry.

Ring Mungerannie roadhouse, they should have his number, or Phillip might even know the max size for vans.

Bob.

We have just returned from a trip and came thru there , spending a couple of days at the ferry . They will take 9.8 Mtrs in length and not a CM more!
The bloke with the truck doesnt have a contact number you have to call him on ch 40 when you arrive . Cost is 75 bucks and he will put your camper on his truck and take it over on the ferry.
Hope this helps

From the SA Government website....

trailers cannot be transported separate to the towing vehicle and must remain hitched to the towing vehicle whilst on the ferry
