Jyco Freedom

Hi All, We have recently sold our Westport and are looking at buying a 2003 tandem Freedom poptop with shower and toilet what would be the average price for one in excellent condition without annex? We were very happy with the Westport but only sold it so we can get shower van.
Thanks

Thanks Peter, What we are looking at it is 17ft I think and a tandem, island bed, 3.0 aircond, oven, awning (no annex) and it is a 2003 model. I was hoping to pick something up for 25k or less but not sure if I am being reasonable.

Image Could Not Be FoundWe purchased this van in 2010 for $28,000.
It is a Jayco Freedom Poptop shower toilet van with single beds.
240v/gas hot water, Heron 3.0 air con and has axle under spring tandem simplicity suspension.
They tow easily and can handle most gravel roads with care.

I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Sounds to be the same as ours which is also a 2004 model which we purchased in 2008 for $28000 so good to hear they are holding their value. It came with roll-out & kadadu walls etc.

I saw one same year & identical to ours in a yard late last year & not in as good as condition as ours & they had it priced at about $32000 which was a bit over the top in my opinion.

Like the OP we had a Westport & traded so we could have a toot & shower and also for single bunks rather than the island bed. Cheers

Thanks Dodg The one we are looking at is almost identical on the outside except it does not have the striping down the side like yours it only has the decal by the door, not sure if this means that it has had a repair to the side will check it out better tomorrow. It has an island bed, 3.0 aircond, shower/toilet. rollout awning but no annex, has an oven also not that we need it. They are asking $29,000 + It is a tandem not sure about suspension will check that tomorrow too. It is a 2003 model and the length is 17ft I think. Any pointers on other things to check.

Ours is an 18ft model.
What to look for.
Make sure that the battery charger system is working if it has one.
Check the water heater and pump to see if they are in working order as well as all gas appliances.
Underneath.
Condition of suspension and look at the tyres closely to see if any scrubbing if so give it a miss as it may have suspension probs which are exy.
Wind out all windows to see if the body is distorted also check door.
As you have had a van previously you should know some of the probs to look for.

Oh, and once you get a toot model you will leeeerv it.
Get the owner or the dealer to show you how everything operates even if you do know that way you will be wiseer.

Last of all ..... best of luck and enjoy.

I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

I think the main reason you love your toot is you have a housekeeper working hard on the broom there. Damn awful things when you have to empty them yourself and we only pee in ours. LOL. Bob (still would'nt be without it though)
