just goin
Evening all,
We have decided to take the kids to the goldy mid Jan 2012 for a 12 night holiday before school goes back.
We have narrowed our search down to either Big 4 Tweed
Billabong or Big 4
Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park.
We have stayed at Treasure Island before but it is booked out and we would like to try somewhere new.
Just after good and bad
feedback or other recommendations.
Kiddies will be aged 8 and 5.
Cheers
JG

Hi JG
We stayed at Tweed
Billabong in Sept school hols, park is clean & staff friendly
large shopping center 5 mins drive , theme parks and
Surfers Paradise are about 30-40 mins.
As the park is located in line with the Cooloongatta airport it can get a bit noisy when planes are coming in to land ( they are quite low ),
Cheers Bruce

I recommend the Tallebudjera Tourist Caravan Park it's owned by the
Gold Coast City Council (Not under the Big 4 Banner).
It has child
friendly beaches and good Amenities.
There is the Tallebudjera Surf Club adjacent to the caravan park where they serve cheap meals and are kid friendly.
We live 5 ks from the Caravan Park and I rate it as the best on the
Gold Coast.
Maybe I'm Biased as because we are members of Tallebudjera Surf Club lol lol.
Cheers

i concur with Tallebudjera it is a top little spot on the creek near
the beach. There is also a fantastic walk you can do from there to Burleigh via the headland. Burleigh has great parks next to beach and some good cheap food spots.
the
Gold coast buses also stop out front.
I reckon you are lucky treasure island was booked out. A friend stayed there and paid a LOT extra for a premium site, only to realise his van was right next to a mini basketball court. For the whole week all they heard was the constant bouncing of the ball.
