I totally agree with TonyMac, though I don't own one I fully understand the importance of such a unit,
BigNev, yes it's great to have that personal contact with the VKS bases but this little unit will find it's place high on the must have list of Desert Adventurers and an absolute priority for the Boaties.I don't care who monitors the emergency calls, as long as it works , that's the main thing , and to have 7 days battery life is also a big plus.
