Trevor
I want to purchase a winch bar for my 2001 Rodeo. However, I am not sure if I should get a steel or alloy bar.
Your comments for or against either would be appreciated.
Thanks
T

Trevor,
I have a 2000mdl and I wouldn't have anything other than steel and only for the strength. I have seen aloy bars bend and they don't need to bend far to touch the body. The idea of having one is to protect the vehicle.

I have a 96 model - steel ARB winch bar (Warn M8000)
Apart from a rust spot high on the right hand riser nil problems.
it has fended off some small saplings and even the alloy tray of a ute without any damage (oooooops, couldn't stop in the wet while towing a full 3 bike motorbike trailer, ute driver decided to stop at a green light :( )
