Back in darwin after42 years when I worked in Commonwealth bank Up Here. Not a lot left from that time but the old bank building is still here but looking very sad and neglected.Recognised and remembered the "Vic" hotel where we used to have the occasional drink on a hot day. (Most days were hot). Met my wife up here so we are having a real nostalgic stroll down memory lane.

Gday Terry
I was there in 1968 / 71 as well. Enjoy your stay. I found a wife there as well , still got her . We had a caravan behind the Nightcliff drive in . Life story in two lines.

We must have taken your camp ...we moved in opposite the L/H outlet of the Paspally Drive in on Coconut Grove Rd in 71. John Parry (Qwake Pest Control) live on the same block. Tracy blew us south and never gone back for the main reason I want to remember it as it was. Wife Cheryl worked at Comm Bank

I Think we all must have lived in caravans.......... I spent some time there in the early 80's in at van at the Overlander Caravan Park Berrimah. It's long since gone now though.
Fond memories of that time..... I remember the Drive in. We would take deck chairs & an esky & sit outside the car on those warm nights. The lightning show before the main feature was also worth watching too.....
Ahh!

The only fond memory I have of Darwin is a long time ago. Two mates and I rode motorbikes out of there, heading back to Sydney, about a week before Christmas one year. The rest is history.

Arrived in Feb 1971. Met the wife and married her is 1973. Two billy lids born in 74 and 76. We all left Darwin in 1989 and moved here to Perth.

First lived in the Arfura Hostel as a single bloke. Then Kurringal Flats in Fannie Bay, then a house in Anula and then a 3 acre block at Howard River Park.
