Comment: Kidman Way

To stop you getting board on the trip to Cobar just north of Hillston keep your eye out for the Lake Cargelligo sign to your right, and 40kms west of Lake Cargelligo is a great camp site at Brewster Weir. There is only 3kms of unsealed road, currently being worked on. When you get Lake Cargelligo there are 2 free camp sites on the Lake or alternatively there is a well equipped with cabins & camp kitchen. If you want to stay on the sealed road continue on to Euabalong and on to Mt Hope. There is short cut to Mt Hope through mallee country also.

Tell me more about the road Noel. Planning to go through Hilston on Tuesday and were thinking of going via Lake Cargelligo but thought the road to Mt Hope via Eubalong was unsealed. Our Hi-ace camper is a bit fragile after 470,000km.
At this stage we were planning on staying at Merriwagga and then going through to Bourke but a night at the lake might be very pleasant.

Hi Peter There is only 3Ks of unsealed road between Hillston and Mt Hope coming through Lake Cargelligo,This was only done last year so it does not appear on the maps yet Even if you dont camp at Brewster Weir it is worth a look,it is only 1K off the road Regards Noel
