Here we are, on our trip to
Cape York, with friends Vivien C, and Ray, when the mighty Patrol goes into limp mode. But there is no computer, so we are now looking at fuel.
Limped out of Hadden Corner, headed for
Windorah at 40-50km/h.
Local mechanic looked at it the next morning, asked what we had done.
Usual stuff, new main filter, blew fuel lines out backwards. He found another, at the reserve tank, and another at the injector pump.
No better, looks like a new injector pump. Oh tbe $$$$$
Limp another 320 km (627 total) to
Longreach
Found Peter Hirst Engineering there. 1 1/2 hre later Patrol going better than ever.
The offending filter is 1/2 size of a filter, and is situated top front, of the injector pump.
Easilty picked up as there is a metal fuel line into it, between the motor and the pump, there is a banjo, below that is a spring, and underneath that is the mesh filter.
LITTLE MONGREL THING !
Now you are clean.
Now we are happy.
Now we head to
Cloncurry Rodeo, this weekend, then off to
the Tip.

If you own a Patrol TD6 then get this little fella checked.
