Dimensions for a clutch alignment tool required

Hi there I require the dimensions of a clutch aligning tool for my HDJ100r land cruiser, if anyone knows off hand?

if it is to line up the clutch to install gear box ring gearbox re builders for a shaft from a stuffed gear box or get a timber dowl and whittle it dowd to a nice fit .cheers warren

You don't need an aligning tool. Put the pressure plate and clutch plate up in place and bolt it up lightly. You can get it roughly in place. You then use your little finger in about 6 spots around the edge of the pressure plate to feel how far the clutch plate is from the edge. You want it even on all six or seven spots. They usually sit flush or about 1-2 mm inside the edge of the pressure plate. once you are happy it is even all the way around bolt it up tight evenly and you will be spot on. I did this for many years in my workshop and works great on all clutches except the recessed type.

I bought a universal alignment tool from supercheap for $25, that way I can use it on any car.

Hello, save yourself the $25. a piece of dowel and masking tape wrapped around at required spacing and to the diameter to match internal circumferences of plates, have used a number of times and works , cheers Bill
