Has anyone recently driven the Gunbarrell Hwy to
Wiluna. Just wondering the condition and time involved to cover it. Heading over to the Canning in two weeks and it may be an option instead of sticking to the Great Central.

I’d seriously
check out the Trek Notes on the site as they have a wealth of information in respect to the trip. Everything you need to know in respect to conditions and travel times will be in there. As for track conditions, corrugated, corrugated and corrugated. Expect and prepare for some pretty corrugated lengths of road. Not knowing what vehicle you are driving, I’d suggest a good pre-trip inspection to ensure your shockers and
suspension are up to the task. Also use reduced tyre pressures to assist the shockers, don’t overload your vehicle and take it slow.
There is a heap to see along the way and as one of our Iconic Len Beadell trips, it’s a must see. Another alternative would also be to come up the less used
David Carnegie Road (taking in
Empress Spring) to the Gunbarrel and then continue from there.

Hello Hydeaway
have a look at thread #88231 from a week or so ago. We spent five days on the Gunbarrel but that was our main thing, we weren't on the way to anywhere else. I am sure you could do it in much less but it would take a toll on drivers and and passengers not to mention vehicles.
Cheers
Rocco
