Cooper Creek Ferry

My cruiser and Kmberley Kamper come in at 10.10 Mt. Can anyone confirm if old mate will be operating his truck to ferry the trailer across after the Birdsville races?

Hi Macca

We were only speaking with Peter the other day and business is as usual. As you are aware, the maximum length of towing vehicle and camper/trailer for the ferry is 9.8m. Peter is able to take over campers and trailers up to 6 metres in length.

To answer your question, yes, Peter and the Cooper will still be running then.

Cheers

Hi Macca,

I have the same potential problem, will be in the area about mid October.
Can you give me any details about "Peter and his truck", as this may be the answer to us getting across the Cooper with our Track Trailer and 4x4.

Don't want to get there from Birdsville and then have to back track all the way back . Also, do they measure the total car / van length or just the front wheels to the trailer wheels, as this would be only about 9 meters....

Are there any contact details for Peter ?

Cheers Terry

Hi Terry,I will be there about 4/5 September so will advise the situation after that.
From what i hear it is total length and Peter charges $50 for the truck to carry the trailer across.
Cheers

Hi maccax7

Is there anything you can remove e.g. spare wheel, or something from the front of the vehicle, etc that will bring you down to 9.8m?

Hi Min, yea, wish there was an easy way, i have checked all the possibilities.
Not stressing, just looking forward to getting to William Creek after the races and have my fight over Lake Eyre.

Thanks though
