From time to time I give an update on Bribie. We did a beach trip yesterday.
All tracks are open and
the beach is drivable without going through the salty creeks from the lagoons as the creeks no longer exist. - probably until the next wet season as some of the lagoons are still very high.
The access to
the beach is powder soft sand and it is very easy to get stuck unless you drive the 50m or so like you stole the vehicle. We normally take a slow approach in our Troopy - got stuck but did dig our way out.
A Prado with 1ton of camper trailer had to have 3 additional vehicles to get them onto
the beach - then he has to get off again later in the week!!!!
We only did the inland track as far as Poverty Point - it is very rough with soft patches, but a camper trailer and small caravan made it to Poverty Point yesterday without too many problems.
Low clearance vehicles will have problems getting on and off
the beach as
well as getting to Poverty Point and Gallagher's. Pack your shovel, snatch strap and lower tyre pressures to get on and off
the beach are essentials.
We did not do the Inland track north of Poverty Point but by past experience, it will be very soft and powdery, once again high clearance vehicles only.
