A few years ago I had a problem, as you describe, with insuring my C/t..a purchased
trailer to which I added a top. As the unit had no single name or manufacturer I was
unable to get an online quote. At that time I rang AAMI & explained the deal, they
were very good & insured the unit under the trailer name. Unfortunately when the
renewal came in they near doubled the price. NRMA accepted the policy at a lesser rate & they dont write down the agreed value each year..it remains the same. The
premium...ok so far, but who knows. I'm still with them. Hope this may help.
cheers....oldbaz.

Thanks for the reply.
None of the major insurance companies will touch it.
But after ringing CIL & MHIA this morning they both will.
CIL for $10,000 including $1000 personal items for $260 a year and MHIA for the same at $317 a year with no extra to pay it monthly :)
Just waiting on the paper work to come to have a read through and then we will go from there!

I have my homemade camper trailer insured through RACV. All l had to do was get a valuation from an accredited caravan sales yard who confirmed in writing the agreed value I was after. Couldn't get contents insurance of course as
mine can't be securely locked up.
Cheers Craig.. . . .
