Another update for all of you who are coming to the Gathering at
Silverton in a few weeks time.
There are a few tennis courts there at
Penrose Park that we can use if we like a bit of exercise. They are not championship quality, but if you like a hit and giggle, they are for you.
There has also been a new cycle track opened up, and that follows the hisoric walking trail around
Silverton.
It is more for mountain type bikes because of the surface of the track. So load your bikes up next to your tennis racquets.
Geez, I am getting puffed out just thinking about it.
See you there.
cheers
Dave

This is getting expensive Dave, now I've gotta buy a tennis racquet.
We called in for a night when we were coming back from our WA trip a few weeks ago, it's still a great place to go and the town itself is on the up and up.
I have chased good sunset's out there dozens of times over the past 40 years and I whenever I've seen one I've been too busy talking and missed the shot, maybe this time things will be different.
Regards
Paul H

If this gathering is like all others then you won't get time for soppy sunsets. Lol
Enjoy, pity I cannot make it. Sob sob.

Paul, if the sun comes up while we are there, we will make time to watch the sunset.
I have a couple of things in mind to do something special for sunset if the sun does decide to come up.
Sorry you can't make it Colin.
cheers
Dave

Hey Colin.
If you send me some cash, I will make sure that you get into some of the raffles.
I was thinking that, with some of that Rare Breed we could fix the knee for you around the
camp fire.
Only Joking.

Did anyone notice my profile
pic is outside
Silverton hotel, taken back in April on my way to
Darwin. We stopped at Penrose Pk for 3 nights, nice people and a good location for a gathering, IMHO.

Colin. Good to here that you enjoyed your stay at
Penrose Park and enjoyed your three night stay. Now every man and his dog will be there. I better get there a few day early to get a spot. I'll make sure you and your MOF get into one of the raffles.
Dave has assured us there will be some great prizes on offer. Do you have any preferences.

Expect plenty of punctures from Bindiis if you are going to ride bikes around
Penrose Park.

Shaker, it's a bit of a problem with riding bikes in the outback, there aren't many bitumen bike tracks.
The local bike
shop has the answers though, you can get a Linatex liner in your tyres and you can almost guarantee that you won't be bothered by Bindiis again.
If the kids around here didn't have the Linatex liners in their bikes, the bikes would be almost permanently upside down with flat tyres.
It's true that because of all the rain there are lots of burrs of all descriptions wherever you go in the outback at the moment.
Funny how a few of them are just by the side of the bed!
cheers
Dave
