Hi, can anyone tell me if the wildflowers are out in the Mullewa Mingenew areas yet? I haven't seen anywhere that they are out, we are looking at going and having a look as they should be fantastic this year with all the rain that has been around.

Cheers

Thanks for that get outmore, we usually do go at that time of the year if we are still in WA at the time, we have heard that the wreath flowers are out so was wondering about the everlastings.

Hi Deanna - we have been advised they are starting to bloom around the Morawa region and should be quite plentiful by the end of August.

Hope to get up there for a gekko ourselves.

Regards - Phil

Thanks Phil, I have since rang the Mullewa Shire and was told that some of the flowers are out, particularly the wreath flowers, but she advised better to wait a couple more weeks. might leave it for a week or two, we are taking off up North at the end of September so don't want to leave it too close to that trip, we want to give the van a run to make sure all is well before we head up North.

We might see you out there. LOL

Cheers

If you head out Mingenew way have a look at Coalseam Reserve. Interesting place - fossils in the rocks and exposed coal in one area. I rekon another three weeks or so for the start of the flowers..... the sun is getting some heat back and the days getting longer. I can't get away for 7 weeks..... rekon they will be past their peak by then.

Hi Bill, last time we were up there we missed coleseam, we had gone up through Dalwallinu and thought would go there on the way home, but we hit a horrendous storm so bypassed it, we will pick it up this time hopefully. Looking forward to the trip.

Thanks Hairy, will be heading up that way in about 6 weeks, but they will be gone by then no doubt. Was thinking they might be out through Yalgoo and Mt Magnet. We will head up probably next weekend or the weekend after. See where we go from there.

Cheers

Hi ya Deanna, in mid July when we came back from the Pilbara via the Murchison & all the towns starting with an M, the flowers were starting to come out then. Sure sign of a good year.

Up in the Pilbara I saw flowers that I'd never seen before. A botanist works in my department at work and she is still trying to identify one of flowers I photographed.

Hi there Duncan, sounds like you had a good trip through the Murch. You might get a flower named after you yet if they can't find it on their records LOL

Thanks for the info, I believe the wreath flowers are lovely all through the Midlands, We are looking at going up to Mullewa through Moora Mingenew, across to Yalgoo, Mt Magnet and down through Paynes Find, just a quick trip before we take off to Shark Bay and then on to Coral Bay for a few weeks. We haven't been away this year so far so are hanging out for the run.

Hope all is well with you and yours.

Cheers and thanks again.
