G,day all,

I have done a forum search and Google for mount brackets.

I can find overseas ones but not Australian. Can someone put me onto where I can buy one here.

I have a 2004 hilux single cab ute. I want to mount it next to gear levers on the passenger side.

Thanks for you help,

Damien

RAM mounts are about the best and offer a wide range of options. If you do a search you can find outlets all over Australia. In QLD Johnny Appleseed (Think that's there name??) used to supply them

I once saw a pic of a setup in a 100srs LC where the guy had used a selection of PVC pipes and fittings to build a laptop carrier.
It had several bends in it and left the lappy just to the left of the gear lever.
Apparently it was very stable and he only had it mounted into the cup holder in the console.
Ripper idea.

I think it may have been here on EO, but I'm not sure on that.
Anyone else remember it ?

Damian, I have a custom built set-up from Brown Davis and would reccomend having a similar set-up made for your rig. I've had them fitted to both my old Pootrol and to the new 79 ute and they are a damn site more robust than the RAM tripod mounts.

There is a photo of it first off in my Profile page. Heres the link.

Micks profile page

I have topped it off with a RAM laptop mount and 17cm arm. It holds a Panansonic toughbook without movement in the roughest of conditions.

Cheers Mick

I also made one up my self, my Hilux is an auto so I mounted above the shifter.

This was when we used a 15" but found it to be too big

And our 10"

Damien

Depending on the cost of the mount you might find changing to an iPad not much more expensive.

I used a Ram Pod mount but at over $300 an Ipad may be cheaper.

Cant post a pic anymore but Johnny Appleseed sell them

Had a mate weld this one up for me and mounted a RAM mount on top for the Laptop. Works a treat.
