Hi Barry,
Its is one of my favorite camping spots and i guess if they haven't fixed it by now, they probably don't intend to. It's typical of the thinking these days, Just one more track closed. I have to say i haven't seen the landslip but i can only imagine that it wouldn't be too hard to just bulldoze a little deeper into the mountain to get around the problem. The original track was cut with pick and shovel 180 years ago but for some reason, in 2011, we cant seem to fix it with bulldozers. Its probably got something to do with those fools from the National parks and wildlife who think they pay for and own the area Michael

Its on a sheer cliff, and most o0f the road fell away. It would be easier to put a new road over the top of the mountain.
Cheers Pete

A note regarding access to Hill End on the NPWS website.
Bridal Track link

Don't know for a fact, however one of our club members mentioned there was a bypass but that had also collapsed.
